Kurumi's ACT2, for real this time!

HEYHEYHEY.

(sorry if this entry is a little scattered, my brain has been constantly bombarded with ridiculous Chemistry homework for the passed two days.)

ANYWAY

I've gotten a new microphone. My dad (who lives about a 13 hour drive away from where I live, and who got me my first amazing microphone,) has been alerted of my current situation involving my broken mic and has said he'll get me a new one! Well, actually he said he'll get me two, because apparently they're cheap, and I know they break easily. So everyone who has been looking forward to a newer, smoother, OCTA-LINGUAL (is that work? I doubt it) voicebank, you won't have to wait too much longer! My dad said he was planning on buying it yesterday and that he would send it to me today! It'll probably get here around Wednesday, so as of either Wednesday or Thursday I can start recording her ACT2!

It'll probably take awhile, seeing as how I'm going to record her samples in a higher and softer than they are now (so she doesn't sound so manly and harsh.) She's also (ideally) going to be able to sing in Japanese, English, German, French, Dutch, Russian, Spanish, and Latin. (With all those samples, I'll be recording for a long time. Plus, the cool thing is, when she has all those samples, she'll probably be able to sing in just about any language, if used correctly!)

In case you couldn't tell, I'm stoked.

I'll update you on this when I get started.

ALSO, triphones. I don't know when I'll start them (because I want to redo what I've already got and they're a bitch to record,) so I don't want to make any promises. I'm thinking I might not bother, what with the new UTAU resampler out. I find it makes Kurumi sound ALMOST as good as if she had triphones =)

Voicebank Updates + NEW OUTFIT?

Hey there everyone! (Funny, I say 'everyone', and no ones even reads this~)

Please keep reading until the end, I've got something interesting to tell you =)

So as you may or may not know, Kurumi's ACT1 voicebank has been under a lot of modification lately, mainly because I'm unable to work on her triphones and I hate being stuck with nothing to do. I've fixed plenty of her samples, added breathing and gasping files... the works! I've decided to call this updated voicebank Version 1.5. If you downloaded Kurumi's voicebank more than a month ago, go re-download it! There's not a huge difference, but I like knowing that everyone is using the same version of her voicebank that I am!

**IMPORTANT**

I've changed hosting sites for my uploads! 4shared was being too glitchy, too many people were reporting problems with Kurumi's voicebank that I can only assume came from a faulty download (ex: missing oto.ini, missing samples, certain samples not playing, etc.) I GOT FED UP WITH THIS AND MOVED TO MEDIAFIRE. The new voicebank download link has replaced the old one on all of my Youtube videos, as well as on my Youtube channel.

Also, some happy news! Kurumi's voicebank has been downloaded over 60 times!

Because she's slowly gaining popularity, a lot of people have recently been telling how they "love her voice, but find the character design disappointing." So, this has brought me to realize that it's time for a little change. Not a huge change (I don't want to confuse anyone,) but just a change in outfit. Her physical features will stay the same, her clothing will hopefully change.

So here's where you come in. I'm a pretty bad artist myself, and I'm not so great at coming up with character designs (except for my side-project UTAU, his design is AMAZING~) So I need help! If anyone wants to submit an idea for what Kurumi's new official outfit will be, it would be much appreciated! But her hair and eyes must stay the same!

ACT 2; Postponed

Yeah so, just a quick blurb.

Kurumi's ACT 2 (triphonic) voicebank has been postponed. The fantastic microphone that I was using to create it broke, and until I get another one that has the same amazing quality, I will not be continuing her voicebank. It WILL be out eventually, but there is no way I can have an estimate of when.

In the meantime, feel free to re-download her ACT 1 voicebank, as BETA breathing and gasping files have been added, as well as several muti-note files. I was originally going to add the muti-tones to her ACT 1 voicebank, but then I discovered triphones and I decided there wasn't much sense in doing both. Therefore, I started adding them in, but never finished. They may not all be formatted using her oto.ini, so you will have to format them yourself if you want to use them.

New Voicebank Update [IMPORTANT]

Hello everyone =]

As you can see, I've finally decided to create a blog for Kurumi. Quite a few UTAUloids have had blogs created for them, and I figured Kurumi was missing out. So here you are~ I probably won't be posting too much here, but what I do post here will be good, like new voicebank updates, song requests, and other related stuff.

By the way, I am officially accepting song requests for Kurumi. If you want her to sing something, just send me a message on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/yorunai).

Anyways, now down to business. The main reason I created this blog in the first place is because I want to let you all know that Kurumi ACT2 will be coming out. I don't know when, because I haven't actually started working on it yet (other than fixing her oto.ini file,) but you can probably expect it's release in about a month.

ACT2 will have an improved oto.ini file, as well as two breath files (she breathes!! O.o) and two gasping files. Since a lot of VOCALOID songs include screaming of some sort, there may also be triphonic files for screaming. These files will be named: br1, br2, gsp1, gsp2. The scream files (if I make 'em) will be called sc will triphonic arrows. I may also replace some of her current sounds, a few of them are a bit off O.o

Speaking of which, another update to Kurumi's voicebank that I will be working on will be tripohones, and that will also be why the contrsuction of ACT2 will take so long. Before a while ago, I didn't know what a triphonic voicebank was or why it was useful, but I recently download Teto's voicebank to take a look at it, so I could try and improve Kurumi's oto.ini. After all, Teto's oto.ini file is extremely well made =] And so now I'm working on triphones for Kurumi.

Finally, ACT2 will include several files for making Kurumi sing in English =] I speak English, so why shouldn't she? The English will probably look a little confusing to the unexperienced UTAU user, but I will write up a tutorial on how to use it once it's done =]

Also, just to let everyone know, I'm currently working on vsqs/usts for Alice in Dreamland and Megurihime Buyouyoku, so expect to see those floating around on Youtube in the future~
